Courage Looks Different for Everyone

When you hear the word “courage,” what comes to mind? A heroic act? Someone charging into something fearless and bold?

We think of it a little differently. And maybe you do too.

The Kind of Courage We’ve Witnessed

We’ve had the privilege of watching incredibly brave women show up with courage in all kinds of ways — and most of it looked nothing like what the movies show us.

For some, it was choosing vulnerability.

Letting down a wall that had been up for years. Allowing themselves to cry, to speak their truth, to share something painful out loud — maybe for the first time. To stop holding it all in and finally let it go. If you’ve ever done that, you know: it takes so much courage.

For others, it was facing a literal fear.

We’re talking about climbing a 30-foot pole, standing up at the top, and jumping off. Those first few steps were terrifying — and they did it anyway. With a group of women cheering them on from below, they kept climbing. And you should have seen their faces when they finished. Pure, wide-open joy. What an accomplishment.

For some, it was accountability.

Recognizing the patterns and behaviours that were contributing to their own unhappiness — and instead of spiralling into shame, choosing to own it and decide to change. That kind of self-honesty? That’s one of the bravest things a person can do.

For others, it was creative expression.

Stepping outside their comfort zone, releasing the grip of perfectionism, and creating something without comparing it to anyone else’s. Trusting that the way they expressed themselves was uniquely theirs — and that was more than enough.

And for some, it was simply deciding to be themselves.

Letting go of who they’d been told to be. Who others expected them to be. And quietly, courageously choosing who they actually were — deep down, in their soul.

Courage Doesn’t Have to Be Loud

It can come in soft whispers just as much as great big roars. You don’t have to be superhuman. You don’t have to have it all figured out.

Sometimes, just being yourself — fully, honestly, without apology — is the most courageous act of all.

Whatever emotional fear has been holding you back, you have what it takes to move through it. We truly believe that. The courage is already in you. It’s just waiting for you to decide that today’s the day.

Ready to step into yours? We’d love for you to join us at one of our events  — spaces where brave women just like you show up and surprise themselves every single time.
